Every year the first author of the outstanding abstract submitted to
the Annual Conference on Peritoneal Dialysis is awarded a plaque and
cash award on behalf of the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis.
The award is presented to the recipient during the conference.
Since 1990, the first authors of the two best submitted abstracts in
the field ofpediatrics also receive a plaque and cash award; these winners
are also listed below. Baxter Healthcare Corporation sponsors these
two pediatric awards.
In 1997, the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis created
a new award for the best nursing abstract. This year the award was shared
by two winners.
